I’ve lived through 3 Bitcoin Epoch’s now (or 3 bear markets, however you see it) and each one feels different.

The bitcoin narrative changes, as does my own understanding of this crazy new idea. Similar to how PlanB describes the “Phase Transitions” of bitcoin, the collective idea of what we understand this system to be matures and evolves over time. Like mycelium, the hyphae of this math-based organism find the optimal way to grow in both our minds and it’s deployment in the physical world.

Bitcoin starves unhealthy pathways and repels hostile entities. It’s the computational manifestation of “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger“.

The Fourth Epoch of Bitcoin looks to be the most interesting so far. The world faces seemingly insurmountable financial, social, and environmental challenges. Yet we shouldn’t fear the future – humanity marches onward and upward, discovering exciting things about itself and the world around it every day. Remember when we faced nuclear annihilation? I don’t – I was born after that “ended”. We sapiens have a way of surviving existential threats.

What will this epoch bring? Will nascent fields of physics & philosophy mature? Will Bitcoin finally die? Will we discover new ways to organize humans?

I hope to explore new ideas in the bitcoin & cryptocurrency space here. That is, when I’m not busy keeping the “lights on” down at the mines. I invite you to reach out to me with interesting stuff you discover.

Humans aren’t built to agree on every little thing, and we definitely disagree on too much of the big stuff. Similarly, we at American BitPower don’t all see the world the same way. However, we are united by some foundational ideas: curiosity about the world around us, a commitment to leverage the power of a team to innovate, and that there will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin.
